Complete Refurbishment Completed 2013 Vessel purchased by current owners in Feb 2008. Refit by former owner included Motor mounts, cutlass bearing and shaft log replacement in 2004, awlgrip in 2005 and new aluminum mast & boom along with all running and standing rigging in 2006. Mast work was done by US spar in Miami. Boat was laid up on the hard from 2008 until December of 2013 for refurbishment Below the water line: Bottom was chemically stripped and epoxy repaired including rework of old repairs using West System products. New bronze thru-hull transducer with fairing block was installed. 3 coats of Primcon tiecoat primer was applied and bottom painted with 3 coats of Micron 66. The Micron bottom paint has been maintained and is being recoated this year. Deck and above (exterior) Teak was stripped from decks with screw holes filled with epoxy. Cheoy Lee decks are solid mahogany cored with fiber glass and gelcoat under the teak. After filling, the decks were epoxy sealed and coated with two part urethane. Teak was also removed from the cockpit seating area and the cockpit area resurfaced with epoxy and coated in two part urethane. The same was done to the coach sides and coach roof, such that all exposed surfaces from the toe rail up where refinished. A custom stainless steel bow pulpit was fabricated and installed, along with stainless trim rings around all opening ports. New life lines were installed....... (continued below) |
Complete Refurbishment Completed 2013 (Continued) Engine, Volvo MD11C approx 2500 hrs. Engine was pulled and torn down for inspection. Heads where removed checked, cleaned and valves lapped. Pistons were removed and cylinders checked for wear. Bearings showed no visible wear and micrometer checked to new specifications. Piston Rings were replaced as were O rings in reverse gear and reverse gear to engine coupling New Exhaust manifold was replaced with NOS. Injectors and high pressure pump were sent out for overhaul. Pump was OK (done by PO) injectors were overhauled. Engine was assembled with appropriate new gaskets and seals and a 3 way bronze valve was added to the water inlet to accommodate fresh water flushing. The Volvo shaft vibration coupling was rehabbed and the vibration dampers replaced. The single lever engine control was replaced with a new telflex unit as where the shift, throttle and stop cables. All hoses (fuel and cooling) were replaced and pumps overhauled. Internal systems: AC system was completely replaced and a Xantrex 2000 watt inverter/charger added with remote control and battery monitoring. All AC circuits are ground fault protected and a galvanic isolator was installed. DC distribution was rebuilt with appropriate buss bars and fuse protection. New battery cables and switches were installed. House battery cables are now fuse protected. All sanitary hoses were replaced and the head was replaced with a newer model and kited. Fresh water hoses are new and the galley pressure faucet and head manual pump are new. Propane system was replaced with new hoses and appropriate controls and leak detector. Stove burners were replaced. New or notable sense launch in 2013 |
Sails and Related The main sail is traditional, faked down on the boom. 3 Head Sails, 150, 130, 110, Spinnaker. All sails professionally inspected in 2012. Both 110 and 130 Head Sails have covers.
