Overview

"Speedy" is a welded-aluminum Packman vessel to be used as a general purpose cargo hauling vessel.

Hull

  • The hull design incorporates a 16 degree V-Hull section aft and 32 degree V sections forward
  • The stern is set at 13 degrees
  • The hull is fitted with 2.5” pipe gunnels
  • The hull plating is to be 5/16” bottom, ¼” sides, transom and bow.  Decks are ¼” plate
  • Decks are flat plate and non-skid coated
  • The hull is to be fitted with 3 bulkheads for 4 compartment voids.  Bulkheads are ¼” plate
  • Cruise 20 knots 5,000 lb. load
  • Can carry up to 20,000 lbs. load
  • 24" - 30" loaded

Hull Outfitting

  • Side boarding door installed starboard side forward 
  • (4) (15” x 24”), weld in aluminum deck hatch will be installed
  • Open-style scuppers installed around main deck to meet USCG CFT 33 standards
  • The standard bow door lockers port and stbd will be extended 36” to create anchor rode storage locker to port and general storage locker to starboard
  • Install 10 main deck 4” cargo tie-down pockets
  • Install main deck tie-down rails port and starboard
  • Install beaching wear plate on bow forefoot
  • Install (4) additional 12” mid-ship cleats, making 8 in total on vessel
  • Small swim step installed on starboard transom corner

Control Station

  • A raised control station platform, 150” W x 60” L X 78” HOA, with 72” clear space from deck to structure.  Port and starboard ladders
  • A 54” T-top control station installed on the raised platform.  The T-top upper section is removable for shipping
  • A 48” wide leaning post/seat installed at the console

Fuel System

  • The fuel tank is located under the main deck
  • Tank is 300 gallons, tank is bolted in place
  • Fuel system is to be equipped with Racor filters for each engine
  • Fuel tank outfitted with fuel sender and gauge mounted on console
  • Fuel tank void is outfitted with 12V blower

Anchor System

  • The stern of boat will be outfitted with an anchor pulpit and a Bruce 33lbs.
  • Anchor and Lewmar 1000 12C windlass and anchor rode locker
  • Anchor rode consists of 30’ of ¼” galvanized chain and 150’ of ½” anchor line; anchor will be secured in pulpit

Bow Door Outfitting

  • Bow door extended 18”
  • Bow door hinges and structure upgraded to accept 8 ton ro/ro use
  • Bow door outfitted with 12V cable winch and door locks.  Winch operates from switch at forward locker, winch position and at helm
  • Bow door outfitted with treated wood planking rows on inside face
  • Bow door outfitted with flip out ramps
  • Bow door outfitted with back-up stainless steel hand crank winch

Lighting & Electrical

  • USCG appropriate navigation lights will be installed, that includes an anchor light
  • 6-Position 12V waterproof breaker panel on the console
  • Ritchie 5” lighted compass
  • (2) Halogen deck flood lights installed on raised deck section facing forward
  • ICOM VHF radio and antenna
  • Each hull section (3) aft of forward crash bulkhead is outfitted with 2000 GPH bilge pups (3 total) with auto/manual switch.  Pumps have thru hull fittings with shut-off valves

Crew Seating & General Storage

The main deck of the boat will be outfitted with four aluminum seat/storage lockers.  Lockers have lockable aluminum lids and are bolted in place.  Two installed to port and two installed to starboard.  Lockers are 18” x 18” x 48”.  Lockers are outfitted with 2” high-density marine foam upholstered seat cushions

Paint

  • Boat has non-skid coating applied inside of bow door between wood planking, main deck and control station deck
