Le Ptit Poucet, was originally a fishing boat built by Bernard Ferdinand ship builders in Les Sables d'Olonne, France in 1966. She was sold in 1983 and converted into a pleasure boat. Today after a five year re-fit from 2007-2012 she has gone through a remarkable transformation into a beautiful sailing yacht.  After a recent voyage from France across the Atlantic and Caribbean Sea she is currently sailing the beautiful San Blas islands off the coast of Panama. This is a classic and unique two masted wooden schooner completely custom rebuilt from bow to stern with all the modern amenities that you would expect to find on a new sailing vessel.

Accommodations

Le Ptit Poucet’s offers very comfortable accommodations for living and cruising in comfort. Starting at the aft cockpit you will find a teak deck, large wrap around settee at the stern, tables and chairs for relaxing, reading and for long, lazy evenings watching the sun go down. The galley is equipped ample cabinets and drawers for storage, a large front loading refrigerator, dishwasher, sandstone sink, microwave and stove with oven. Continuing forward into the spacious salon and dining area appointed with beautiful wood furnishings and filled with light from the surrounding large windows, to port is a linear settee with an oval table based around the main mast with chairs to accommodate up to 9 guests for dinner. Forward to starboard in the wheelhouse is the helm with sound system, video, TV, satellite phone electric panel, engine gauges and controls. There is convenient access to the starboard decks through a doorway and a chart table to port for navigational aids. The forward master stateroom has a large double berth to starboard, ensuite head, tiled shower, electric head, vanity with sandstone sink and storage cabinets. A bronze porthole and prism provide ample light and ventilation. One guest cabin has a large double berth with ensuite head, tiled shower, electric head, vanity with sandstone sink and storage cabinets. A single berth guest cabin separated by passageway is also located below deck. The interior finish is beautiful with light ash veneers. Each cabin has a TV connected directly to the web server at the wheelhouse. All materials are in good taste and excellent quality


Additional Information

 Le Ptit Poucet has gone through a major five year restoration project from 2007 to 2012. The entire ship was updated, restored, rebuilt or replaced to transform her into a unique blend of a classic, wooden two masted schooner with the modern living accommodations, electronics, safety gear and mechanical systems you would expect to find in a new sailing yacht. Below is a list of replaced or refurbished items with the 2007-2012 re-fit:

Planking underwater, topsides, deck structure and superstructure, all new bronze thru-hulls, electric windless, standing and running rigging, water maker, chain plates, electric winch, engine, generator, sails, lazy jacks, plumbing, fuel tanks, custom interior, topside paint, bottom paint, cedar bowsprit, 8 man life raft, Waeco fridge, microwave, gas stove with oven, dishwasher, stainless steel cupboards, sandstone sinks in the galley and heads, light ash veneer wall covering and cabinet linings, seating and mattress materials, both mast’s are tubular steel that have been sand blasted inside and out and painted, booms are Oregon pine with stainless steel goosenecks and fittings, pulley system, fittings, winches, jammers are high quality, oversized and made to last.
