The Dehler 36 is a superb mix of great sailing performance coupled with a deceptive amount of space for a 36ft yacht allowing her to suit both those who are more accustomed to racing as well to the cruising side of sailing. With only two owners from new and extensive investment Haka truly is a lovely yacht that is ready to get sailing again!

Haka has been a joy to sail and will be missed. She is lively, responsive and extremely well balanced making her the ideal racer/cruiser. Down below she is very comfortable, well-appointed and deceptively spacious for a 36 footer.

The design attributes of the new Dehler 36—straight sheer, long waterline, powerful 9/10ths rig—add up to a practical compromise between comfortable cruising and performance sailing. For example, the Dehler’s relatively light displacement and 737-square-foot working sail plan give her a sail area-to-displacement ratio just over 21 and the ability to scoot in the 10- to 12-knot conditions so commonly found in many summertime coastal cruising grounds. White GRP Hull with rubbing strake. White GRP superstructure with nonskid decks. Cast iron/lead fin keel. Spade hung rudder with self-aligning bearings.  Wheel steering aft cockpit layout with self-draining holes at the aft of the cockpit. Self-draining gas bottle stowage. Anchor stowage locker up forward of the bow.

Hull, Deck & Superstructure Construction:

·         White GRP Hull.

·         Deck is a sandwich using a balsa core of varying thicknesses.

·         Reinforcement of aluminium, plywood or solid wood are used in high stress areas.

Keel & Rudder:

·         Fin Keel with bulb.

·         Spade Rudder.

·         The rudder is caulked and held by a rudder caulking ring on a friction bearing.

·         The rudder blade with the rudder shaft is held in an upper and lower pendulum bearing.

·         The rudder blade is a modern pre balanced GF synthetic profiled blade with considerable rudder force.

·         The Rudder is controlled via a steering wheel in an aft cockpit arrangement.

·         Emergency steering. The emergency tiller is stowed in the galley locker on the port side.

Engine & Gearboxes:

·         The exhaust pipe is heat resistant with certain limits.

·         Pipe is fixed at all connection points with two clamps.

·         The onboard 12V direct current system is responsible for the power supply for all general use appliances.

·         The 12V Plus load circuit can be switched off using the main switches next to the port companionway and with the second master switch of the starter battery.

Battery Banks:

·         Starter Battery 12V 55 Ah placed underneath the berths of the stern cabin port side.

·         Two x 12V service batteries.

Battery Chargers:

·         Charging voltage 14,25-13,25V

·         The yacht is equipped with a 12V 55 Ah starter battery, this is placed underneath the berths of the stern cabin port side.

·         The batteries are charged via the engine alternator.

·         Once the shore power is connected, the battery charger starts changing all of the batteries.

Alternators:

·         The fixed 230V connections are for the battery charger and hot water provisions.

Shore Power:

·         220V shore power connection point.

Other Electrical:

·         Navigation lights take priority, if there is a drop in capacity caused from a technical fault it is best to switch off all other consumers.

·         Running the engine even whilst sailing can recharge the batteries, this will then allow secondary consumers to be switched back on. 

Fresh Water & Water Heating System:

·         Fresh hot water is supplied via a SIGMAR heat exchanger with a 20L capacity is installed

·         The yacht is fitted with a hot water boiler system and is supplied via the shower installation with a tap in the hand washbasin, from which water can be drawn.

Bilge Pumps:

·         Single Piston pump. This is easily accessible in the galley locker.

·         Electric Bilge pump, the suction filter is under the galley towards the middle of the bilges. The outlet is on the flat part of the stern. The switch is on the navigation panel among the switches.

·         Hand Bilge pump has a suction filter with return valve is installed in the saloon between the galley and the navigation table in the bilges. The outlet is on the port side rear surface of the boat.

Grey & Black Water:

·         Shower water suction pump in locker space under the hand washbasin. The stopcock can be found at the side of the wash basin.

Fuel:

·         A 90l stainless steel diesel tank is installed under the forward port bunk in the saloon.

·         The fuel tank is filler through a screw cap on the top of the fuel tank.

·         Supply of and return to the inboard diesel engine occurs through a fixed copper pipe with fireproof fuel hoses at the ends in accordance with ISO 7840.

Fresh water:

·         Two separate Polyurethane water tanks with a total capacity of 254l. First tank is installed under the U sofa port side in the saloon cabin. The second tank is under the starboard saloon bunk.

·         An electric pressure water pump with a secondary surge tank supplies the sink and the washbasin in the toilet area.

·         The fresh water tank also supplies the cockpit shower.

Grey/ Black water tanks

·         The 48L holding tank is produced using a stainless steel plate and serves as an intermediate storage system. The Tank is situated in the accessible rear locker to starboard.  Holding tank indicator is located in the navigation area.

·         To empty the tank there is a standard deck screw fitting.  

In cockpit:

·         Removable Raymarine A70 chartplotter.

·         ICOM handheld VHF radio

At chart table:

·         Raymarine RN300 GPS.

·         ICS Nav6 by NAVTEC.

·         Raymarine Pathfinder SL72.

Communications Equipment:

·         ICOM VHF radio at navigation station.

·         ICOM removable VHF radio at helm position.

Galley:

·         Two gas burner on top of a gas cooker.

·         Large fridge next to the oven making for easy access.

·         Two freshwater sinks.

Heads/Showers:

·         The freshwater tank also supplies the cockpit shower.

·         The unit is installed on the surface aft.

·         There is a manual Jabsco pump for toilet.

·         Water is heated via a sigmar heat exchanger with a 20L capacity.

Heating & Ventilation:

·         Webasto Air top 3500D diesel heater. The heater is situated at the starboard side aft in the stern storage space.

·         The chimney for combustion air is installed on the starboard side of the flat surface on the stern.

·         The air in the boat is drawn into and heated in the heat exchanger via the heater intake.

Entertainment:

·         MP3 radio system with two speakers in the saloon area.

Lighting:

·         12V lights in the galley, berths and heads.

Description of layout from forwards:

Forward Cabin:

·         Double forward berth with great access through forward door, ample storage space in two lockers either side of the entrance. Port locker contains a single shelf with a coat hanging area. To port there is a similar storage system.

Main Saloon:

·         A spacious saloon area with a U-shaped seating area to the port side and another seating area to starboard. The saloon as ample storage space in various open and closable storage lockers on both the port and starboard side. A stereo system with an mp3 system and two speaker in the saloon allow for a great socializing area.

Galley:

·         Galley is nicely laid out with everything within reach, the galley consists of two freshwater sinks, a large fridge and a two gas burner oven.

Navigation Station:

All navigational equipment is centrally placed which allows easy access, with raymarine plotter and instruments.

Companionway and engine access:

Aft Cabin:

Double aft berth underneath external cockpit, access is via a door just to the aft of the galley area. The cabin has great storage space with a two shelved locker and coat hanger area to starboard and another storage locker to the port side.
