CALL THE LISTING BROKERS TODAY FOR MORE INFORMATION ON HOW TO SEE THIS BEAUTY!

"Chessie" is a well-maintained 1991 Grand Banks 46  in Deltaville, VA. She is a 2 stateroom Classic model and has had the teak lower decks removed in favor of low maintenance painted fiberglass decks with off-white non-skid. The flybridge still has teak underfoot but this was completely replaced with new teak in 2019.

Powered by the dependable and fuel-efficient Caterpillar 3208 TA 375 HP motors which had their heads replaced and major refurbishment done in 2015/16. Chessie cruises at 10 knots sipping around 7 to 8 gallons per hour and is capable of 14 knots at wide open throttle. (Note that this boat has the original tanks)

With more than 200 Grand Banks 46 Classics built, (Chessie is #98),  and with two basic layouts offered during the years of production, the builder perfected its interior construction. Grand Banks yachts are known for their quality wood joinery. While exterior teak is restricted to cap rails and decks, the cabin inside glows with warm wood. Parquet sole  and teak cabinetry is of the highest caliber, and has furniture-quality finish and craftsmanship. The interior offers abundant stowage in lockers and drawers. The warm glow of natural wood is tempered and accentuated by white surfaces and headliners — and large windows allow plenty of natural light and a view around the entire boat. Visibility from the lower helm is excellent, and there is plenty of space for electronics and charts. Noise levels at the lower helm are low, allowing normal conversation at cruise speeds. Doors to port and starboard allow easy access to side decks and the salon provides comfortable & plentiful seating with excellent views.

The master stateroom is aft with the queen-size berth offset to starboard, providing even more storage space and a corner vanity and a ladder & double doors to the aft deck. The head, with vanity & basin is to port and the shower compartment to starboard with a hanging closet to starboard of the stairs to/from the salon.
Guests will stay in the forward stateroom, which offers a wide V-berth. A full head with a separate stall shower is found forward with plenty of storage for guest's belongings. Just aft of the guest cabin is a washer and dryer to starboard. The U shaped galley is to port.

The deck space on the flybridge is ideal for entertaining with an L shaped settee aft, side by side and back to back seating forward and a bimini for shade.  The aft deck large enough to house the dinghy which is hoisted aboard with a crane off the trawler mast.

Chessie's maintenance has been extensively documented by current owners. In recent years, apart from the deck work, the engine heads have both been re-worked, exhaust manifolds , windlass, refrigerators, icemaker, stove, heads and water heater have all been replaced.
