Overview
The Iron Rod is a 1999 Hatteras 52 Sport Deck Motor Yacht that has been well maintained with many improvements. Everything about this boat feels grand from the moment that you step onto her fully enclosed sundeck, up onto her spacious flybridge and down into her very comfortable interior. This vessel is powered by twin Caterpillar 3406E 800 hp diesel main engines and an Onan 20 kw generator.
Owners Remarks
This yacht is a Great Loop veteran and is ready to cruise immediately. The current Owner has just spent $50,000 plus in upgrades and maintenance.
Great boat for extended travel, 5 weeks exploring the Bahamas without refueling. Sweet spot 10 knots at 9 gallons per hour, 4 fuel tanks total almost 1000 gallons
Family is downsizing, Children have now married and moved away, Parents want to continue cruising the US intercoastal way and great lakes, looking for smaller M/Y
Walk Through
Boarding this yacht can be done via boarding gates on port and starboard amidships or from the swim platform and up the molded staircase to starboard. Once in the spacious Aft deck you can proceed either port or starboard to the bow, up the molded stairs to the flybridge or through the glass door and down into the interior. Forward of Salon to starboard is the yachts stacked laundry and then the VIP stateroom with ensuite head forward in the bow. Aft of the salon and down the guest bunk room is to starboard with the guest head to port and then all the way aft is the full beam master stateroom with ensuite head. The engine room can be accessed from a hatch in the sole between the galley and dinette.
Salon
The very spacious salon features a U-shaped sofa with storage and accent pillows, swivel chair with ottoman, coffee table trunk, 32" Sony Bravia flat screen TV, Sony DVD/CD player, Yamaha RX495 stereo receiver, u-Line ice maker, LED lighting and synthetic teak flooring. Large tinted windows with blinds along the port and starboard sides provide plenty of natural light to the space.
Galley and Dinette
The Galley on this yacht has plenty of room for 2 people and is located forward and down from the salon and to port. The Galley features an Origo 2 burner electric stove top, a General Electric microwave/convection oven with blower and stove top light, a 2 door Whirlpool refrigerator/freezer with icemaker, a Kenmore dishwasher, Corian countertops with a single molded sink with a single-lever faucet with retractable sprayer hose, drawers and cabinets.
The 4 place dinette is to starboard of the galley. The dinette has a Corian tabletop, storage below the forward bench and along the starboard bulkhead
Accommodations
The master and VIP staterooms feature walk around queen berths, the guest stateroom features 2 over/under single bunks and the dinette can convert to a double berth.
Master Stateroom with Ensuite Head
The master stateroom features a centered queen berth with memory foam mattress, built in night-stands, large drawer and storage units on port and starboard and a cedar-lined hanging locker. There is a 19" Sharp flat screen TV with integrated disc player for in- cabin entertainment. There is a port light with screens and blinds to port and starboard and an escape hatch/window aft with blinds. The space has LED lighting and synthetic teak flooring.
The master stateroom features an ensuite head with vanity, molded sink and storage, a freshwater Vacuflush toilet and a shower with sliding curved door, hand held shower head on hose with wall mount, overhead light, bench sea and port light. Many of the head fixtures are new.
VIP Stateroom with Ensuite Head
The VIP stateroom also features a centered queen berth, hanging locker, and large storage drawers to port and starboard. There is an overhead hatch for natural light and ventilation. Your guests will have equitable accommodation.

Guest Stateroom
The guest stateroom features over under single bunks, a hanging locker with two drawers below it, four additional drawers below the lower bunk and under bunk storage. A small built in nightstand is forward in the space and each bunk has its own reading light. A single portlight with screen and blinds provides natural light and ventilation to the space.
Laundry
This yacht features a Whirlpool heavy duty stacked washer and dryer forward of the dinette.
Sun Deck
The very large sundeck on this yacht is likely the most popular and comfortable place to entertain or just relax. The sundeck features a teak sofa with cushions and tow teak chairs with cushions. A large floor rug and two teak tables complete the space. Forward and to port is a wet bar that houses a 31" Samsung flat screen TV, stainless steel sink with high neck single lever faucet, storage locker, Uline refrigerator with ice maker. A large deck box is aft in the space and provides plenty of storage.

Flybridge and Helm
The flybridge has seating for eight with a Murray Brothers helm chair with footrest, Murray Brothers companion chair with footrest, a large L shaped bench to port and a smaller bench aft in the space. The lighting has been updated to LED lighting and some fishing rod holders have been added in the overhead. Access to the sundeck roof is aft from the flybridge.
