Overview

The 43-metre schooner This is Us is a magnificent recent example of a Hoek Design classic performance yacht. Designed by André Hoek she displays all the elements of larger classics, including slim low-freeboard lines, long overhangs and bowsprit, sweeping decks, an elegant sheer line and a modest pilothouse. However, a modern underwater hull makes this schooner a benevolent wolf in sheep’s clothing. She has carbon masts, carbon Park Avenue booms and sophisticated rigging fitted to this lightweight, high-performance yacht.

Her rig follows the trend for high-aspect mainsails and roached foresails, while a lifting keel offers access to shallow waters and when lowered to 5.2 m draft it adds tremendous power and speed. This carefully considered synthesis of classic appearance and modern techniques led to This is us being nominated for the World Super Yacht Design Award 2007.

A full range of water sports facilities, from waterskiing to snorkelling and diving, are also on hand to guarantee you the ultimate sailing holiday experience.
