Overview

Built on a solid fiberglass, semi-displacement hull with a prop-protecting skeg, the Mainship Pilot 30 has an open layout, which is sensible and easy to use/maintain, and she is suited to a variety of uses. The aft cockpit offers a convenient fish or dive platform, and her economical operation and comfortable accommodations appeal to weekend cruisers. LuLu is great for fishing in the morning, lunch around the cockpit, a sunset cruise in the evening, or as a weekender.

LuLu has the desirable factory hardtop. Among the advantages of the hard top are 1) you have overhead lighting and always have protection from the weather; 2) you reduce the noise created by wind or weather overhead; 3) you have solid handholds for walking forward; 4) there are portlights and overhead hatches for ventilation and natural light.

Accommodations

Below deck sleeping and dining accommodations are forward with galley and head aft. The cabin is set up for comfortable cruising with a dinette/settee, convertible berth, galley and private head with electric flush. The berth is "flipped under" during the day to open up the cabin area and provide more seating; it is "flipped out" at night for a good size double berth. In the center of the floor is a base for a table; it is surrounded on three sides with a settee/dinette. This table can also be used in the cockpit. There is a small hanging locker on the starboard side with shelving all around. There is a stereo system and TV for entertainment. A large center hatch overhead and opening ports on either side allow plenty of ventilation.

Upper Cockpit

With her single 6LPA-STP Yanmar diesel engine and single lever control, "LuLu" is easily maneuvered, with assistance from the bow thruster when you need it for docking. The helm station, on the starboard side, is comfortable standing or sitting with good headroom and visibility. GPS/Plotter/Radar, Autopilot, VHF, engine gauges, trim tabs and windlass controls are conveniently located around the helm station. There are opening ports, ceiling hatches and the center windshield opens giving plenty of ventilation. Use of the aft back curtain can fully enclose the area for cold and foul weather cruising.
