Emika is a flush deck version of the Swan 62 and has just been introduced to the brokerage market for the first time.  Since delivery in 2004, she has been used for private family cruising and based in the South of France with the occasional winter in the Caribbean.  

Highly optimized for short-handed cruising, she features an in-boom furling mainsail and all halyards are led underdeck to the aft cockpit.  The retractable bow-thruster facilitates maneuvers in the harbor and the Westerbeke generator and air-conditioning system make her a comfortable and versatile family cruiser.

Offered for sale by her original owners in VAT paid status, she is based near St. Tropez and will be available to visit this summer.

HULL & APPENDAGES

Construction

The hull is of single skin using glass/aramid hybrid fibre reinforced polyester laminate tensile fibres. A high proportion of the fibres are unidirectional, giving a stiff laminate with excellent strength and fatigue properties. Bulkheads are of marine plywood laminated to hull and deck with foam strips between. 

Sea cocks of bronze for all through-hull connections below the waterline, finished flush with outside.

Keel

The keel is a lead casting with antimony and carefully finished to accurate shape. Cast-in keel bolts are of high-tensile stainless steel. 

Rudder

Rudder foam filled GRP with tapered rudder stock of E-glass composite, supported by two self-aligning roller bearings. 

Steering Systems

Double 41" destroyer type stainless wheels with elkhide cover, two pedestals with roller bearings

DECK

Deck Construction

Sandwich construction, using glass/aramid hybrid fibre reinforced polyester laminate, with low-density closed cell foam core, and glued to the hull. High-density core under deck fittings. Teak on side decks, coamings, coach roof, cockpit and on bridge, glued and vacuum bagged without screws.  Teak toerail bolted through hull/deck joint.

All hatches are flush and made in composite by Nautor.

General

All joinery work in the living area is done in accordance with the best yacht practice, using first-grade materials. Teak with hand rubbed satin finish is used for the visible woodwork. 

Floorboards with laid teak veneer, providing access to the bilge. 

Topsides where visible lined with teak battens.
Overhead lined with removable panelling.
Roller blinds/mosquito screens recessed into deck hatch frames. 

Cabinets, tables, bureaus, seats, dressers etc. have rounded corners.
Doors, partitions and panelling are teak-faced plywood or foam.
Self-engaging latches with bumpers to hold doors in open position. Hanging lockers are equipped with rods and hooks, and their doors are provided with louvres.
