Overview

This is a NEW Listing for a Shannon 50, Aft-cockpit, double entry, double headsail Ketch.

Boat is in excellent condition; Not a project boat in any way. Owner is knowledgeable and proud. Feels anyone could take this boat, as is, and go away on a vacation cruise. There is
always an on-going schedule of maintenance and this boat has that happening. Boat should survey well and there should not be any hidden surprises.
The Shannon 50 is the Flagship of the Shannon breed of sailing yachts. This yacht came with different configurations. This boat is the aft-cockpit, dual entrance, double headsail
rigged, ketch.

This boat is a serious offshore vessel capable of crossing oceans and doing long voyages, taking whatever the sea offers. Stoutly built by Walter Schultz and David Walters fame, these
boats were built to a semi-custom style to reflect the new owner's requirements. All models did reflect the common theme of quality and attention to detail. These boats exude a feeling of
nautical history, a traditional comfortable design and a common sense approach to practicality offering good accessibility to systems and a favorable ergonomic, easy living design style.

Sail Area: 1227 sq. ft. Beam: 14' 3" Draft - Centerboard: Up: 5' 8" Down: 9' 9"
Ratios: Sail Area/ Disp: 31.8 Disp./ Length: 222.85 Ballast/ Disp: 39%

Owner's Comment: " Very comfortable in a seaway. Boat has sailed a steady 11 -12
kts. for hours in 15 to 20 kt breezes."

Coming from an earlier generation of sailing yachts, do not be fooled as to the boat's performance. This Owner has decades of experience, both cruising and racing. He feels this
boat is a powerhouse of performance that easily reaches hull speed. He would be willing to share his opinions. Yet, in a heavier sea condition, this boat will offer a smooth, comfortable
motion and enable its crew to enjoy the various conditions that the sea offers. Ideal design for family cruising, serious sailing and entertaining your friends. We hope that you will take
advantage and come and inspect this fine, pedigree sailing yacht.
