The Sundeer 56’ is the last word in no fuss, blue water cruising and the class has voyaged to all corners of the globe, swiftly and in comfort.   TAMARISK is no exception and she has taken her current owners far.   Now available after a refresh, she is offered at a competitive price to give her new owner the scope to prepare her for new adventures. 

TAMARISK has just completed a three year circumnavigation. Throughout the course of the voyage, TAMARISK has had an almost full replacement of all systems, sails, generator, alternators, autopilots, solar panels, pumps, batteries, communication equipment, instruments etc. In preparation for sale, we have also done an extensive refit of many of the cosmetics, including refinishing the floors and wood trim, new mirrors, hull and top deck cleaning and polishing, new spray dodger etc. TAMARISK is 100% ready for another major ocean voyage and is just missing a crew, with an ambitious sailing dream. RCD Status: Our understanding is that the yacht is exempt from the essential safety requirements of Directive 94/25EC (Recreational Craft Directive) as she was built and placed into use within the EU prior to 1998.

Hull, Deck & Superstructure Construction:

·        1 x Yanmar 4JH2E 88hp diesel engine.

Maintenance & Performance:

·        Engine Hours: approx. 7,546 as of March 5^th 2015.

·        Engine last serviced in February 2015.

·        Cruising Speed: approx. 6 knots @ 2,000rpm.

·        Maximum Speed: approx. 9 knots @ 3,000rpm.

·        Fuel consumption at cruising speed: approx. 4 litres per hour.

·        Range @ Cruising Speed: approx. 1,200nm.

Propulsion & Steering:

·        Cable steering with hydraulic autopilot.

Voltage Systems:

·        12vDC domestic system with 110AC ring main from generator and/or shorepower. Accepts 220 or 110v shore power.

Battery Banks:

·        6 x 420Ah 6vDC engine starter batteries joined in parallel and series to supply 1260 Ah @ 12vDC. 

·        There is an additional isolated 12v battery for engine cranking.

Battery Chargers:

·        Xantrex Freedom 3012 charger/inverter combo (requires 110v input).

·        Outback FlexMax 80 charge controller (part of the solar system).

Alternators:

·        150amp Bosch 12v alternator (for house bank), plus the factory Yanmar alternator (charges engine battery).

Generator:

·        5KW Westerbeke 110v (new in 2013).

·        Generator Hours: approx. 481 hours as of March 5^th 2015.

·        Generator last serviced in January 2015.

Shore Power:

·        110v or 220v (shore power goes through Victron Isolation Transformer - if 220v from the shore, the power is down-volted to 110).

Other Electrical:

·        855 watt Kyocera solar panel system with Outback FlexMax 80 charge controller (new in 2013).

Fresh Water & Water Heating System:

·        25 gallon hot water boiler.

Bilge Pumps:

·        3 x Bilge pumps (1 x in each watertight hull compartment).

Fuel:

·        Total capacity of 250 gallons (2 x 125 gallons), plus ability to draw fuel from auxiliary tanks in engine room, new fuel transfer pump.

Fresh water:

·        Total capacity of 400 gallons (2 x 200 gallons).

Grey/Blackwater holding tanks:

·        Total blackwater capacity of 25 gallons.

·        No greywater system.
