With her many upgrades and fastidious care, KIANDA, may be the nicest example of this famous and respected Tom Gilmer design currently afloat.  Those shopping for Pacific Seacraft, Bristol, Baba, etc are urged to consider KIANDA.

Except for one year cruises in 2011/12 and 2016/17, KIANDA has typically been stored under cover for 8 or so months per year.

OWNER'S COMMENTS

KIANDA has made a reality of what we had dreamed for ourselves. We wanted adventure, exploration, time in nature surrounded by beauty, special experiences reserved for the few who decide to 'go for it'. Purchasing her 12 years ago (where does the time go!) was an easy decision for us. The moment we saw her, our dream took effect. And since that day, we have seen, learned, loved and truly lived more than we ever could have without her as a part of our life. We have journeyed. Wonderful moments; unforgettable memories; zero regrets. And now, certainly with a dose of bitter-sweetness, our water-based chapter in life is temporarily being put aside. We remember the excitement of finding her and hope that KIANDA's new owners will be just as pleased to be a part of this boat's legacy, and her to be a part of theirs.

ACCOMMODATIONS

KIANDA is the perfect size cruising boat for single-handers and couples with impressive headroom down below.  The main cabin settees and the forward berth are nice and long so your feet don't touch the end.  Her storage lockers are ample for your live-aboard needs as well as additional items acquired along the way.  In the galley, the three burner stove and temperature controlled oven is a baker’s dream.  There is additional counter space provided by the custom folding table with fiddles to hold items while healed over underway.  The energy-efficient Engle fridge is highly a valued onboard luxury and is maintenance-free and thus worry free.  Its capacity to hold 'everything' always impresses.  The large fold down dining table allows you, friends and family to dine together when you prefer to be down below.  There is amazing ventilation down below with all her bronze opening portholes, screened hatches and cabin fans. The forced air diesel heater makes is so pleasant in the cabin you almost wish for cooler temperatures.  An additional duct in the head allows any gear that does get wet to be dried quickly.  You will love the reliable Lavac that requires very little maintenance. The forward V-berth has a counter/sink/mirror area and the forward berth locker is shelved with adequate space for the wardrobe of two people including a larger compartment for all your footwear.

DECK FEATURES and OTHER EQUIPMENT
Starting aft, Kianda’s comfortable cockpit is a great size to accommodate anything from social gatherings to stretched out naps.  The cockpit cushions or folding chairs will keep you comfortable while listening to your favorite music on the cockpit speakers.  The custom folding cockpit table has three sizing options to fit the needs of the moment.  The layout is also very practical while at sea with the custom folding helmsman chair and two compasses to watch your course.  You will have the choice of using the rugged ComNav hydraulic autopilot or the Monitor Windvane while underway.  The two deep lazarettes can store tons of gear needed if live aboard cruising.  The solar panel arch (and solar controller) is ready to accommodate a second 135w panel for a total of 270w.

Along with the quiet KISS wind generator, you will have plenty of power aboard this energy efficient cruising sloop.  Many of the equipment has been purchased to add a baby and/or solent stay as well as mast stowing her whisker pole.  The two line reefing system make it easy to take in the two large reefs in the North Sails main.  The large self-tailing Lewmar winches easily enable you to trim the #2 roller furling genoa or the reaching spinnaker in lighter air.  Kianda’s inventory of three oversized anchors in excellent condition ensure she stays put.
  • Monitor Windvane Self-Steering
