Overview

Valkyrie is a nicely maintained Catalina Morgan 440 DS well laid out for long-term passage making or as a live-aboard seasonal home. She has an open and bright interior, full galley, large salon, Nav Station, good-sized forward and aft staterooms and two heads. She is equipped with a Leisure Furl main, roller furling jib, and all new standing rigging. Her auxiliary power is a 75-HP Yanmar with 1600 hours and has had her 1500-hour Yanmar service. She has had several upgrades in 2017 and 2018. Please check the Full Specs and call for an appointment to see her.

Accommodations
The boat is extremely well laid out for long-term passage making or, in the case of the current owner, as a live-aboard summer home. The interior is very open and bright. Coming down several stairs into the galley and salon area you are immediately struck by the amount of light coming into the boat. Surrounded by windows on both sides, forward and with the large companionway, you have 360 degree views from anywhere in the salon or galley. To starboard is a galley fit for any cook. There is nice storage and plenty of counter space. The oven/stove is outboard and gimballed for use under sail. The double sinks give plenty of capacity for washing dishes and preparing food. The freezer is aft and accessed from the counter. The refrigerator is located on the centerline and accessed via a door which opens aft. There is an opening port just above the oven/stove for great ventilation. Navigation station and electrical control area to port. Shore power, 12v and solar electric all controlled here. Communications, entertainment and performance instrumentation also located in navigation area. Just forward of the nav station are the port settees (actually 2 recliner chairs), the middle of the 3 chairs is fixed and has plenty of storage underneath and a fold-down back that hides a bar and has 2 drink holders built in. To starboard of the settees and forward of the galley is the dinette w/wrap-around seating. The table can be quickly enlarged from cocktail size to maximum dining size and electrically lowered to form a double berth. Under the salon and galley is the extensive, well-insulated machinery area w/easy access through the floor. The engine, generator, tanks and most equipment on the boat is located here. The forward owner's stateroom in the bow has a slightly raised, wider island-style berth forward w/storage under, shelves outboard and closet aft to port, makeup mirror and seating. Owner's head w/stand-up shower enclosure aft to starboard. Going aft from the galley is the second cabin w/a very large berth, which can also serve as the master. Storage outboard in well-ventilated lockers w/long shelf over. Just forward of the aft guest cabin is the bright & spacious day/guest cabin head w/a very large shower and good storage. Moving to starboard is a workroom accessed via the aft cabin or the deck w/a long work table and lots of storage, both open and in lockers. The microwave oven is in this area to free up space in the galley for storage.
