SPECIFICATION

Brokers Comments:

ANNA-KARINA is a superbly spec’ed example of her class, that has been meticulously maintained and which is perfect for short handed sailing.  She has a practical Solent rig with powerful battened mainsail to take advantage of Ron Holland’s slippery hull design.  She was substantially refitted in 2010 at Berthon including new portlights and saloon window, new electronics and communications system including a new chart table and pedestal for the new equipment.  She also has new sails.  She has been professionally maintained and is only being offered for sale as her owners lack the time to use her to her potential.

The Discovery 55’ has been extensively reviewed, Bluewater Sailing called her `an innovative and eminently comfortable voyaging home’, whilst Boat International said ` the Discovery 55’ is a beautiful boat, soundly constructed out of the best materials and designed to look after her crew, whatever nature throws up.  But none of this is at the expense of performance which is in the top league of today’s modern cruiser-racers’.

Owner’s Comments:

One of the most enjoyable things about ANNA-KARINA is that she is completely self-sufficient. While cruising on the West Coast of Scotland, we enjoyed many remote locations in great comfort, due to an extremely well-equipped galley, the ability to make our own water and even do our own washing! She sails like a dream and is a beautifully balanced and safe boat.
