Overview
This classic William Garden ketch is like no other. In 2019, Serenade's inboard diesel was removed and replaced with a 70hp electric motor, powered by nine 8D AGM batteries which are charged by a new 6kw Genset. This configuration provides extended range with less than half the fuel consumption of an equivalent inboard diesel, and without all the maintenance demands. Serenade also has new sails, new booms, new plumbing, and some updated wiring. She still has some cosmetic needs to take care of, but she is in good running order and is actively sailed.
