REMEDIOS is a particularly well-cared for and updated Hinckley 59. She has always had a taller spar for enhanced performance under sail. Under her present ownership, that has been further enhanced by a new carbon fiber mast and, for ease of handling, a carbon fiber boom with in-boom furling. She is equipped with full hydraulics for headsail and mainsail roller furling and power winches. And the list goes on, making her something different/more than her respected and proven Hinckley 59 sisters. Centerboard configuration offers a minimum draft of 6’-6” with board up, and a maximum draft of 12’-6” with board down.

The layout in REMEDIOS is unique to Hinckley 59’s in that she has an island queen and guest double berth forward. She sleeps eight in a custom layout that includes an island queen in large owner’s stateroom aft with full-beam guest cabin forward which sleeps 3, an added private V-berth in the bow, plus one in the main salon.
Interior joiner work is finely-crafted varnished ash. Cabin soles are solid teak and holly with a gloss finish. Custom mattress pads and linens are included. Fans, opening ports, port lights, deck hatches and nine exceptionally large stainless steel cowls (2005) provide plenty of ventilation and natural light. Brass reading lights, white curtains are further touches that bring together the light and airy ambiance found in this beautifully cared for classic Hinckley sailing yacht.
GUEST STATEROOM
Forward of main salon is a full-beam guest stateroom with double berth to port and single Pullman berth to starboard, plus hanging locker, bureau and storage lockers. Overhead hatches, opening port, port light and dorade vents provide excellent light and ventilation. Next forward is the thwartship guest head.
THWARTSHIP GUEST HEAD
The guest head includes a SeaLand 706 vacuum-flush fresh water toilet, sink and vanity. The shower with teak seat is to port with several storage lockers outboard.
FORWARD V-BERTH:
Generous V-berth is forward of the thwartship head, accessed through the head and/or from on deck.
MAIN SALON
The main salon features a long settee to starboard and a U-shaped settee with hi/low oval table (that can convert to sleeping accommodations for two; there is no cushion onboard to effect the conversion) to port. There is an abundance of storage space, including lockers outboard - two with stained glass insets in the locker doors, shelves, and drawers are beneath the settees. New (2014) salon cushions, crew covers and throw pillows.
GALLEY
A large U-shaped galley is aft of the main salon to port, featuring generous counter space, drawer and locker storage. Counters are off-white Corian with built-in soft-edged Corian fiddles.
NAVIGATION STATION
The navigation station is aft of the salon to starboard. There is an oversized chart table, fixed seat with backrest, and electronics and DC electrical panel outboard. Two brass dome lights over nav desk, both with red and white lights.
PASSAGEWAY
The passageway leading to the owner’s stateroom has a wet locker, a large counter/chart table/ workbench with lockers above/outboard, and easy access to the engine room inboard that is truly an engine room on in board side of passageway.
OWNER’S STATEROOM
The owner's stateroom aft has a generous centerline queen with storage everywhere: under the berth, to port and starboard along hull and forward beneath the custom vanity with Corian sink and counter top.
OWNER’S HEAD
The owner’s stateroom is uncommonly large, as less space is devoted to the head. The owner’s head houses only a SeaLand 706 vacuum-flush fresh water toilet, shower and storage lockers. By having the sink and counter space as part of the vanity and open to the owner’s cabin, the cabin is larger and feels far more open.ENTERTAINMENT ELECTRONICS:
Hull is land-laid fiberglass with 1” Airex core. Airex-cored hull stringers are integrated with engine mounts and mast step. Topsides are Flag Blue Awlgrip (2004), gold cove stripe, white boot top and red bottom. Decks are white Gelcoat with tan non-skid molded in. The deck fiberglass is cored with 3/4” Klegecell, set on 7-1/2” deck flange and bonded to hull with fiberglass and bolted on 8” centers. Centerboard configuration offers a minimum draft of 6’-6” with board up, and a maximum draft of 12’-6” with board down.
