Overview

"YARGO VI" is a Ted Brewer design sloop/cutter, captain maintained, that is a performance blue water cruiser or club racer, designed and heavily built for offshore use. Her underbody is designed for offshore with a full skeg protected rudder and protected prop in an aperture. No worries about logs, lines or fishpots. Her cutter rig will make easier handling of heavy weather. Roll up the jib all or part and carry on with reefed main and staysail. Her deep cockpit with dodger, bimini and weather cloths will keep you dry in all but the foulest of weather. And when that comes just zip in the side and aft curtains for full enclosure.

The Brewer designed 382, 383 and 384 series have a reputation for quality construction, great performance and ease of handling. Mr. Brewer has designed several very popular sailboats and has also served on design teams for America's Cup race boats.

"Yargo VI" is a Morgan 383 series that incorporated several improvements over the 382. Those improvements were a larger rudder, increase of mast height by 4 feet, increase of keel weight by 1,000 lbs. and the main sheet traveler was moved out of the cockpit to the cabin top. Additionally, the cabin sole substructure around the head/mast step area was redesigned and strengthened. The Brewer design is also noted for its roominess and it sleeps up to seven adults. She performs exceptionally in light air, yet is stiff enough to easily handle a gale. Most owners cite the volume of the interior and many stowage compartments as major reasons for their satisfaction with the Morgan 38 and are popular, and much admired boats that should, we expect, hold their value well.
