COMMENTS
Refit / Maintenance:
Aquariva CIEL, hull number 6 of the famous reborn Riva series was bought by the current owners in 2015 where she underwent an extensive refit, addressing every slightly tired fabric, used stainless steel, a full repaint and mahogany strip back and varnish with over 12 coats re-applied this season. Her low engine hours are a testament to her careful use as a day boat and her impressive charter history have covered her annual running costs including berth and fuel season after season thanks to regular and repeat clients. She is kept by a dock manager, who provided preventive maintenance, daily upkeep and cleaning services. Every winter she is stored in climate controlled, closed conditions including her engines and equipment “winterized”. She has served well for this growing family who have decided to move on to a larger model.
The Aquariva:
Built in the historical shipyard of Sarnico in Italy, the Aquariva walks along the line of its Grandfather the Aquarama. Very few boas can hold true to the pedigree lining the Aquariva’s DNA carries, as it is inspired and designed to carry the heritage of the Riva brand, where the world of yachting as we know it, started.
Great brands - those that make the history of lifestyle and design every day - do not belong to the companies that manage them but to the people who love them, to the fans who dream about them and honour them with their admiration and enthusiasm. This is the key to understanding why Riva has transfused into Aquariva Super all the qualities and timeless charm of the legendary Aquarama, an unforgotten cult boat that is still an object of desire today. Aquariva was born because there is a need in the world of yachting, and in the world more generally, for soft and elegant lines, for fine woods (the mahogany deck panelling with maple inlays) and luxurious leather finishes. Naturally, as well as the best things from the past, this outstanding yacht also features state of the art technology, such as the innovative electronically-controlled two speed gearbox, installed on the standard version, which boosts the acceleration of the twin powerful 370 HP Yanmar engines, enabling outstanding performances (with a top speed of 41.5 knots). And while the 10.07 m long and 2.8 m wide hull is no longer built in wood but in Kevlar composites, thanks to technological evolution, the spacious sun pad at the stern is a faithful copy of the one which hosted stars like Brigitte Bardot and Sophia Loren in the past. Past, future, glory, the pleasure of cruising, the thrill of perfection. In one word: Aquariva
