She currently resides up north in the Ocean State thus she is lightly used a few months a year. The remaining months she is professionally stored under cover at the marina. This go anywhere sailboat has spent all her days in the New England area. I have owned and improved her over the past 7 years. I am only selling because my family has doubled in size and now I will be getting a Baba 40.
Last summer we took her on our longest voyage, from Rhode Island out around Nantucket and up to Maine. We could not have been any happier with her sailing characteristics and comfort of ride. She heaves too like a dream with double reefed main and a backed staysail. Without towing that inflatable dinghy behind her we were really suprised how well she pointed into the wind and how fast she actually sails for 30 foot boat with 25 foot waterline length and nearly 13,000 lb. displacement. When all three sails are up in 15 knots of breeze, lock the wheel, take a shower, make a sandwich and come back to the helm, she is sailing straight as an arrow (Of course having someone stand watch). Though sails have been upgraded, the original dimensions have not been altered so as to not interfere with the designed balance of the rig. We purchased this boat with intent of long distance cruising in mind. Now that she is finally rigged and ready to go (two kids later) we need a bigger Baba.
