Owner's Comments

She is a great offshore cruiser proven in every kind of weather. She sails well in all wind conditions and will fight her way even into headstrong offshore storms in heavy seas.

She was a freshwater boat until 2004 / 2005 when she set out on a long term cruising adventure.

A July 2013 survey shows she is in "above average cosmetic and mechanical condition" and showed evidence of "continuous and competent maintenance".

A November 2008 survey stated" As a result of good ongoing maintenance by the owners, the vessel SolSean had NO essential repair items that requires attention at the time of this survey."

Broker's Comments

This boat was constructed in Huron Park in southern Ontario, Canada and is sometimes confused with the Whitby 42. She is the big sister to the smaller North Star 40 built earlier by the same company.

Her Sparkman Stevens design is testimony to her fine features and sailability.

From the center cockpit you enter either from the forward or aft companionway. Forward and down the companionway stairs reveals a large and spacious salon with a folding dinette table to starboard and a convertible berth to port. A head with shower, sink and toilet are to starboard. The forward stateroom has a removable center for the berth allowing for a spacious double or two single berths. Generous storage and hanging lockers abound.

Aft to starboard is a "U" shaped galley. Opposite is a well equipped navigation station with lifting table top and storage under. There is an electrical converter underneath that allows running 110V AC power which is converted to DC power that will run all of the vessel's DC equipment.

The passageway to the aft cabin is on the port side. Engine assess is through a large opening panel in the passageway. Engine room access to the Ford Lehman diesel, SS hot water heater, fuel and water filters and other systems gear is also available through the centerline cockpit sole.

The aft cabin and head can also be accessed directly from the cockpit through a sliding opening hatch and stairway. This owner's stateroom is spacious with abundant storage and hanging lockers and access to the aft head & shower.

The Tigerwood hardwood cabin soles and fine teak interior present a classic appearance that adds to the comfort of being below.

All cushions throughout are custom made with new covering in 2009; 4" thick in the salon and 5" in the owner's stateroom.
