Overview

EXCEPTIONAL ISLAND PACKET 38

It is a pleasure to present you a beautifully maintained Island Packet Cutter. As an example of her maintenance history, the batteries seemed completely functional but the owner has replaced them with new. The rest of the care has followed suit over the years. As you can see from the inventory, the vessel is prepared to go to sea or stay comfortably ensconced on a mooring for relaxation. The cleanliness below and aloft is superb. Very easily viewed behind the owner’s home in Punta Gorda by appointment.

Accommodations

ACCOMODATIONS

As you go below and tour fore and aft you should be pleasantly surprised at the spacious you will envision on a 39’ offshore cruising cutter.

The galley is immediately accessible to the cockpit and main salon for ease of service to those below and those on deck. There is a spacious wrap-around counter with ample work space, drawers, lockers and laminated lined cabinets. It features a Propane stove, microwave oven, double stainless steel tanks and a refrigerator. Other features are a slide out trash receptacle, fold up counter extension and built-in dish rack for stowage simplicity.

The salon is large enough to entertain guests but is also comfortable for an intimate dinner for two. The central hinged table can be either secured against the bulkhead or easily lowered to make a spacious dining area which seats 6 – 7 people. It is typical for all Island Packets to have unusually spacious areas for storage. Settees are covered with well-preserved removable covers for ease of maintenance. Both settees are full length long enough for sleeping. The port side settee can be pulled out to make a double berth. The interior joiner work is interior hand oiled teak with very well placed hand rails throughout the main cabin. Hatches are carefully screened.

The hinged top navigation station is at the aft end of the port side salon settee. There will be a well-labeled electrical panel for all AC and DC functions and all other breakers.  A chart drawer large enough for bound chart packs is provided under the settee and there is a handy drawer for navigation tools below the table top.

The forward owner’s stateroom has a large center island V berth with a handcrafted custom mattress. The bed is easily accessible from both sides. The aft end of the bed is mounted on gas struts and is lifted to reveal a large storage area. Drawers, storage bins and a generous hanging locker provide further storage. The cabin has a private door to the bath.

The bath is generous in size and can be accessed from the forward cabin  and the main salon. It features a nice sized vanity with cabinet below a deep polished oval stainless steel sink. It has a large overhead hatch, opening port and several lockers for toiletry items. It is made even more spacious with a folding shower stall enclosure that stows against the bulkhead when not in use. It also features a full lengthy mirror and fold down teak shower seat.

The aft cabin features a large athwartships pullman style bunk with 5” foam cushions and a special built in hideaway sink. It also includes a full length mirror and ample storage with a roomy cedar lined hanging locker and drawers.

Throughout the entire interior, the flooring is made up of a teak and holly sole
