Overview

Pocket super yacht from Jongert in 1977, she is available fresh from a winter refit which has her gleaming as she ought.

Broker's Comments

ARGO OF ARDROSSAN is a charming little ship. She is easy to sail and of course the original build is of the first quality. She has a great wheelhouse and her saloon is atmospheric and charming and is situated aft with the sleeping accommodation forward. She has been substantially refitted and updated in this ownership including a very thorough winter refit in 2013/14 which included full new paint. ARGO is now ready for her new owner and new blue water adventures…

Owner's Comments

I have lived on ARGO since I purchased her in 2002 and have personally carried out the majority of the improvements. She has always felt very safe and excels herself in strong winds. I have made many long passages singlehanded as I have modified her with this facility in mind. She will make a sound investment.

Construction

RCD Status: Our understanding is that the yacht is exempt from the essential safety requirements of Directive 94/25EC (Recreational Craft Directive) as she was built and placed into use within the EU prior to 1998.

Hull, Deck & Superstructure Construction:

·         Steel construction; in 2003 the hull was grit blasted. A number of plates were removed from the hull and replaced with new. The hull was then repainted with 11 x coats of International epoxy and then antifouled.

·         Hull and superstructure completely repainted in Awlgrip using her original livery of white with a blue styling line during a winter refit 2013/14.

·         Further plates replaced in general winter refit 2013/2014.

·         In 2006 the teak decks were removed and replaced with 9 x coats of International epoxy and TBS non slip panels. This has now provided the vessel with an easy repair option for her future years and has not detracted from her original appearance.

·         Decks refurbished in general winter refit 2013/2014.

·         Teak trimmed exterior.

Note: Registered length 14.2m.

·         Borg Warner gearbox - Model 72C velvet drive hydraulic.

·         Fuel consumption on average 4.2 litres per hour.
