The Swan 48 Windy is in good condition, with continuous replacements of equipments and services in order to maintain the boat always efficient.
The boat has ever been used by only one owner, initially he took part in a few regattas, then from 1986 the boat was only ever used for summer cruising, since 2006 the boat has always come to marina sant'Andrea for maintenance work and only ever did a maximum of 30 days navigation a year. Since 2014 the boat has only gone out for daily navigation.
Here is a list of the main works that have been carried out in 2015:
1) Unmasting and masting
2) replacement of sheer line (left side) as from original supplied from Swan
3) internal left side: removal of the internal frames (left) and removal of the chain plate with new surface in VTR - reconstruction of the damaged frame near the chain plate
4) transom: removal of the adjacent lamination near the back stay chain plate and repairs with new laminate in VTR as original plans, gelcoat finishing
The deck was varnished in awl grip top coat in 2008, complete renewal of teak in 2008 (12mm) in 2015 the boat was varnished stern and sides (awlgrip), in 2014 the antifouling was completely removed down and thereafter applied 3 layers of epoxy primer and 2 layers of antifouling. This was carried out as a form of prevention as the hull did not show signs of osmosis.
In 2018 all humidity levels of the hull where checked out, the result was negative, also there was still no sign of osmosis.
In 2011 the rudder bearings where replaced.
The mast was first checked in 2008 and again 2011.

INTERIOR
General
The interior is in good condition and has been maintained with the original layout
Forward Cabin
The forward cabin is arranged with 2 overhead tilting beds. The bow cabin is also used as a storage sails with access from the interior and deck with sliding manhole. In front of the masts’s bulkhead there is a bathroom with a marine toilet, a sink and a shower on the left side, and a wardrobe on starboard sideboard
Aft Cabin
The aft cabin is the owner cabin that is present with two French beds on the sideboard, small central cupboard where the freezer is housed, main wardrobe is walled and bathroom with marine toilet, sink and shower.
Saloon
The dinette has a sofa and a central table for dinning. On each sideboard there are 2 beds, while the starboard sofa can be transformed into a double bed.
Galley
The kitchen area is set up with a 2-burner stove, oven, refrigerator, double sink and kitchen fumes extractor.
Nav Station
The navigator’s station is arranged on the starboard side with independent seat and complete wind repeater, GPS, vhf and ssb. In the area there is an electrical panel for the management of each on-board systems.
Engine Room
The engine room is under the entry ladder with front access for the inspections, or by lifting the ladder for main maintenance.
ENGINE & SYSTEMS
The engine, recently replaced (2004), is a Volvo Penta D2 -75 2200 cil. With a consumption of 18 liters / H Maximum. The cruising speed is 7.5 knots.
Plumbing Systems
The hydraulic system is equipped with an autoclave and boiler (electric and motor). There are 4 tanks for a total of 450 Lt. in the central area, and 2 of 100 liters in the aft cabin as spare.
Ventilation System
The internal ventilation is guaranteed by large deck hatches and two wind sleeves. In the bathrooms and in the kitchen there is electric suction. The boat is equipped with Webasto heating recently replaced.
Drainage System
The boat has two manual bilge pumps and one electric.
ELECTRICAL SYSTEM
Electrical system is of 12 volts, with 5 batteries of 100 amp.
Chargers/Inverters
The boat has a battery charger and a 12/220 Quick inverter, which has recently been replaced.
ELECTRONIC SYSTEMS
Navigation Instruments
The wind and speed instruments are Autohelm, the pilot, recently replaced, is Reymarine, the Gps is the Reymarine C80.
Communications Systems
The boat has a VHF Shipmate RS 8000 for internal and external use, and a SSB Furuno FS 1550IT.
Entertainment Systems
Stereo system by Blaupunkt.
MAST & RIGGING
The mast is made of aluminium with a spiral cable rigging. The boom is in aluminium, increased in length from the original one. (the original is available) The boat has 2 poles and 2 small poles.
EQUIPMENT
General Equipment
The boat has a variety of outdoor cushions, a spryhood to protect the entry into the cabin,sun cover, swim ladder and a long teak walkway.
Safety Equipment
The boat has a Delta anchor with 80 mt. of steel chain, electric anchor winch, one spare anchor, two life raft for a total of 10 people and general safety equipment for navigations over 12 miles from the coast for 10 people.
