Overview

HALCYON is a beautiful blue Niagara 35, Encore model, built by Hinterhoeller, with wonderful accommodations inside and out. She sleeps five comfortably in very bright and airy accommodations. Electronics include autopilot and GPS. She has good sail equipment and sails great.

Her blue hull looks very good, her decks are pristine. The interior is neat and clean, cabin sole varnished to the nines.

HALCYON has had excellent maintenance over the years. She is a comfortable cruiser, ready to take you where you wish to go. Make a point of including this vessel on your "to see" list. Give us a call.

Accommodations

The Austria-born George Hinterhoeller emigrated to Canada in the 1950's to do what he had done all of his life: build boats; after helping to form C&C yachts, he went off on his own to start Hinterhoeller Yachts where he built the Nonsuch line and built about 300 Niagara 35's between 1978 and 1995....  Mark Ellis designed the Niagara 35 giving her a classic sheer and relatively long overhangs. She is a beauty. Practical Sailor says: " The Niagara 35 is a handsome, classically proportioned cruising cruising sloop from one of   t best builders of production boats in North America. It is not considered big enough these days to be a circumnavigator, but certainly large enough for a couple to leisurely cruise the Bahamas, Caribbean Sea, and South Pacific."

HALCYON is well maintained and has wonderful accommodations for owners and guests. The master cabin is forward with large double to port and a seat to starboard that will convert into an even larger bed. This cabin has very good storage space with lockers and drawers. There is a private door entry into the head and shower.

The head is spacious and has a separate shower stall, and good storage space. It may be entered from the companionway leading from the salon, or as mentioned, from the master cabin. The vanity with mirror and S/S sink has pressure hot & cold water system. Hot water is provided via the Excel instant water heater located in the head. The manual head has a Y-valve to a 25 gallon holding tank,  or directly overboard.

HALCYON has excellent ventilation and light throughout, provided by large hatches and many opening ports. The Encore model sleeps five comfortably. The interior is very nice with varnished teak and holly sole, well varnished good joinery work, and light green upholstery cushions throughout.

The salon has comfortable settees port and starboard - port and starboard convert to  single berths. The dinette table is fixed to the salon sole, and double in size; the top folds over to accommodate the starboard settee. There is additional storage space in the table. The salon has a Force 10 propane cabin heater mounted on the forward bulkhead to stbd.; this heater will add to the comfort of using the vessel early in the season and later into the fall. There is a comfortable quarter berth that also serves as the seat for the chart table.
