Overview
The Pearson 424 is a classic Bill Shaw cruising design featuring solid construction, good sailing performance, shoal draft with skeg-hung rudder, a versatile ketch rig, and comfortable cruising accomodations. If you're heading to the islands, sailing in Maine or just looking for a roomy, capable weekender, this boat should be on your list. It features two large private staterooms both with custom quilted mattresses, an exceptional cruising galley with ample counter space & storage, and a roomy cockpit that can accommodate a large family or many guests at anchor. Last One has been well maintained and updated by her knowledgeable and talented owner.
"Last One" has had many upgrades and improvements over the years, including in-mast roller furling, and much of the electrical system has been upgraded and customize of ease of use and longevity. If you're looking for a proven bluewater design, with quality construction, you own it to yourself to inspect Last One.....she's worth a look.
Accommodations
Last One has a spacious varnished teak interior featuring 2 private staterooms, a large sea-going galley, a roomy head with shower stall and a unique dual-entry arrangement enabling privacy in the aft cabin.
- Forward cabin features a large v-berth with a mattress. Includes a dressing table with wash basin, a seat, hanging locker, and bureau. Opening hatch above berth provides light and ventilation.
- Main Salon features conventional port & starboard settees that convert to a small double. Centerline drop-leaf teak table seats 6 comfortably port & starboard. Shelves and lockers behind settees for books and assundries. More storage underneath. Light colored headliner and large opening hatch keep the salon bright and airy.
- Aft to starboard is an auxiliary entryway ladder that accesses the deck via a sliding hatch. This allows privacy for the off-watch crew in the aft cabin. Storage lockers underneath ladder.
- Aft to port is the large U-shaped galley.
- Across from the galley to starboard is the large head and separate shower. Head features manual marine toilet w/'Y'-valve and holding tank, vanity, SS sink w/ H/C pressure water. There is a large separate shower stall which can double as a wet locker. The shower features a seat with a built-in soak tub underneath.
- The aft cabin features a large double berth to port with storage underneath, and the nav station to starboard. Nav station has a swing out seat. Excellent engine access available under companionway steps.
- All interior cushions are in excellent condition
- Teak & Holly sole is in excellent condition due to constant use of rugs
