Overview

Philosophie IV only had three outings last season, posting two bullets and a third in three of the RORC Channel Races: Myth of Malham, Cowes to Dinard & Morgan Cup. With a comprehensive inventory of equipment and sails, this boat will deliver some great results and a huge amount of enjoyment for the next team.

Engine

Hull & Spares Upgrades

  • 2 pad eyes added for Code 0 sheet angle in line with the roof winches on both side
  • Creation of an aluminum frame to fit 2x batteries under the table, just above the keel, plus new wiring.
  • In-hauler system added with extra jammers and the appropriate block cascade to allow for non-overlapping configuration
  • Scale with numbers on the Mainsheet traveller
  • Jib tack pad eye replaced for a wider one in order to facilitate jib peels
  • Both Chain plates / hull connection (Port and Starboard side) re-enforced
  • 4 clipping points in the cockpit
  • Forepeak hatch replaced in 2014
  • Teak spinnaker pole holder on the deck (starboard side)

Keel and Rudder

  • Original drawings from Farr Design for Keel and Rudder sold with the boat
  • Manufactured of lead shoe of (120kg) by Shore Cast Solent Ltd. (early 2012)
  • Keel faired according to original drawings for Farr Design
  • Keel removed, checked and weighted ( (Early 2015)
  • Survey of the boat structure (Early 2015)
  • Every year: wetsand hull, keel and rudder, tent and apply three coats of Nautix A4, once cured, sand backto P1000 super racing finish
  • Rudder faired to templates as per Farr drawings
  • Rudder removed and roller bearings serviced (every year)
