Overview

“Habana” cannot be compared to any other Peterson 44 available.  Owned by a professional yacht captain for the past 17 years, she has benefitted in numerous ways from the expert ownership.  No corners were cut, no compromises made, when it came to the maintenance and outfitting of this offshore sailboat.

“Habana” underwent a complete refit in 1998 – 2001, at which point the interior was modernized and refinished, the original Perkins 4-154 received a complete (top to bottom) major overhaul and all electronics, ground tackle and steering components were updated.

A second refit in 2006 included a complete Awlgrip (hull, deck, mast and boom), new standing and running rigging, all stanchions and stanchion bases were replaced, two new Frigaboat units (one for refrigeration and one for the freezer) were added and two separate Cruiseair units, each with its own saltwater pump.

During a third refit, in 2012, she received all new stainless steel opening portholes (with screens), new Bowmar hatches, refinished bright work and the wiring was updated to include a new AC/DC panel by Paneltronics.  She was fitted with a Garmin 740S Chartplotter with depth sounder, a Garmin GMR radar and 18/24 Radome (mounted on stern pole), new AGM battery banks and a Freedom 2012SW Inverter/Charger by Xantrex.

In addition to all of that, “Habana” looks gorgeous and is a real sailor’s boat.  She is extremely well built and, like all the Peterson 44’s, was designed to be pleasure to sail – quick, responsive and a joy to sail.
