I bought Athena of Salcombe (then named Mayfair Lady) in August 2014 as part exchange for the sale of my Moody 54. Unfortunately a combination of injury and lack of time (due to unexpected commitments) means I cannot really spend the time I would like sailing her. Since August 2014 I have ensured that she has been very well maintained and and is in outstanding condition. She has had three owners from new and has clearly been extremely well cared for.

RCD Status: The yacht conforms with the essential safety requirements of Directive 94/25EC (Recreational Craft Directive) and is Categorized A – “Ocean”

Hull, Deck & Superstructure Construction:

·         Hand laid glassfibre construction with isophthalic gelcoat backed by initial lay up of powder bound mat and isophthalic resin.

·         Hull topsides above waterline balsa cored sandwich construction for light weight and increased stiffness.

·         Solid laminate below waterline.

·         Moulded GRP deck stiffened using a balsa core and plywood backing pads around deck fittings.

·         Raised bulwark with Teak toe rail and teak in the cockpit.

·         All sea cocks below waterline replaced with DZR and skin fittings also replaced 2012

Keel & Rudder:

·         Cast Iron Bolted fin keel with vestigial bulb.

·         GRP semi-balanced rudder mounted on a half depth skeg with bronze heel fitting.

·         Rudder supported with stainless steel bar rudder stock.

Engine & Gearboxes:

·         1 x Volvo MD22L 50hp.

·         Sail drive transmission system.

Maintenance & Performance:

·         Engine hours are roughly 1203 as of August 18 2015.

·         Date of latest engine service is January 2015.

·         New Sail Drive Gaiter fitted 2012.

Propulsion & Steering:

·         Wheel steering.

·         3-bladed propeller and rope cutter.

·         Sail drive system last service by Berthon Boat Company in July 2015.

·         Side Power Bow thruster SE8/185 12v added in 2012 with remote control as well as on binnacle. 

·         New Volvo propeller 2012.

Voltage Systems:

·         12v DC battery system.

Battery Banks:

·         2 x 12v service batteries.

·         1 x 12v engine start battery.

Battery Chargers:

·         Victron battery charger.

·         Engine driven 60A alternator charging 2 heavy duty 12v batteries and engine battery (latter renewed 2015).

Shore Power:

·         110V/240V  AC shore power system consists of the following:

1.       An externally mounted input socket.

Other Electrical:

·         Inverter Xantrex 1800 watt. 

Fresh Water & Water Heating System:

·         Pressurised hot and cold water system throughout.

·         Fresh water Filter system for drinking water on Galley sink.

·         Hot water is supplied via a calorifier system.

·         Hot water is available from the calorifier throughout the entire fresh water system.

·         The Calorifier will heat water whenever the engine is running.

Bilge Pumps:

Entertainment:

Lighting:

·         12v deck heads and reading lights.

Summary of Accommodation:

·         Two double cabins, one cabin with two single berths and an aft port passage cabin.

·         Cherry  interior with cream upholstery throughout and a cream work top in the galley area.

·         Cream curtains throughout the main saloon and cabin areas.

·         All upholstery was renewed in 2013.

·         Carpets in main saloon and all berths (spare set included).

Forward Berth

·         Double berth with infill, hanging stowage to starboard and cupboards underneath the deck head.

·         Ensuite forward toilet to port just aft of the forward cabin.

·         Opening hatch just above the double berth.

Forward Heads Compartment:

·         The Forward heads compartment is located just aft of double forward cabin.

·         The compartment is finished with a wipe clean laminate surface and teak finished stowage lockers.

·         There are opening hatches for extra light and ventilation.

Saloon Area:

·         U-shaped saloon seating to port with drop leaf table (infill for double berth) and a second settee to the starboard side.

·         Large folding leaf dining table with cutlery drawer and bottle locker.

·         Hull side lockers including space for built in space for TV.

·         Fixed port lights mounted in the hull topsides outboard to allow extra light though the cabin and to aid visibility whilst inside the hull.

Galley:

·         Centreline galley unit with twin stainless steel sinks, two burner gas oven and double fridges.

·         Generous work surfaces with deeply fiddled edges.

·         Stowage lockers for food, crockery, pots and pans.

Navigation Station:

·         Navigation desk with chart stowage under lid, drawer and locker space.

·         Furniture incorporates space for instruments, electronics and electrical distribution panel.

·         Chart table seat in water resistant covering.

·         Wet hanging locker aft of chart table.

Port Side Passage Cabin:

·         Mid-level single berth with stowage lockers.

·         Drop in panel to shorten berth and create extra hanging locker for aft cabin, making passage cabin into dressing room for aft cabin.

·         Passage cabin fitted with opening port light for ventilation.

Aft Cabin:

·         Large central double berth, hanging locker with generous storage space.

·         Port passage cabin can be incorporated as a dressing room.

·         Vanity desk forward of bulkhead.

·         Opening port lights in coach roof and opening deck hatch.

Aft Heads Compartment:

·         Accessed from aft cabin or aft of the galley area.

·         Separate shower stall with folding screen doors, waste water is electrically pumped.

·         Compartment finished with Perspex shower stall screen, wipe clean laminate and teak furniture.

·         There are opening port lights to allow extra ventilation and lighting.  

Rig:

·         Selden silver anodized mast head rig with twin aft swept spreaders.

·         Selden in-mast furling.

·         Selden furlex on genoa.

·         Selden rod kicker.

·         All standing rigging replaced in 2013.

·         All running rigging and jack stays replaced in 2014.

Winches:

·         2 x Lewmar 48 CST Primary winches.

·         1 Lewmar 16 C mainsheet winch.

·         2 x Lewmar 30C halyard winch.

·         1 x Lewmar 8C Headsail furling winch.

Sails:

·         Dacron main sail by Hood sails good condition with the sacrificial strip being replaced in 2011.

·         Genoa from Hood sails.

·         Both sails laundered and refurbished in 2015.

Anchoring & Mooring Equipment:

·         Remote control windlass anchor system.

·         16kg plough anchor with 37m of calibrated anchor chain.

·         Warps.

Covers, Canvas & Cushions:

·         Blue canvas spray hood.

·         Full cockpit canopy with inlaid panels and lighting added in 2012.

Tender & Outboard:

·         5hp Mariner outboard included with the yacht.
