Overview

This beautiful Zimmerman 36 is ready to travel anywhere. To say she is overbuilt would be an understatement.  From her engine room layout to the stainless hatch ports, this vessel was purposely built with no corners cut in the process.  She features a 375 HP John Deere with just over 600 hours. The Westerbeke generator has 409 hours.  

MONTROSE is the only Z36 built with 6'9" headroom in the main cabin.

Accommodations

MONTROSE's main cabin includes an ultrasuede L- shaped settee that converts into a double berth. Opposite side has a Stressless recliner. Helm and nav. station have individual Stidd chairs for maximum comfort and visibility. Overhead hatches provide ventilation and sight lines are excellent.

There is a galley down, open above with lots of light and air. The head includes a separate stall shower, molded fiberglass for ease of cleaning.
Fwd. cabin included cedar lined chest of drawers and hanging locker.  The large vee berth has a custom mattress. Opening ports and hatch provide excellent ventilation and light. All interior joinery is cherry, and cabin soles maple.

Hull

The Zimmerman 36 is an extremely capable boat - able to go out in almost any weather and return unscathed. That is what you would expect from a hull form that's evolved through a hundred years of commercial fishing off the coast of Maine. Don't let her handsome lines fool you - this is a workboat hull, bred to work offshore, year round, in the worst weather. Her seaworthiness is legendary. Full keel and skeg protects the running gear from grounding.

Deck and House

In the interest of exceptionally easy maintenance, MONTROSE has no exterior wood. Artful combinations of stainless steel, anodized aluminum and Awl-Grip colors dress up the exterior.

The hull-to-deck joint is bedded in permanent adhesive and bolted every 12 inches with type 316 stainless steel bolts.
