The living space has been maximized and makes smart use of every inch of the over 13 ft beam. A spacious three cabin, two head floorplan provides accommodations for up to eight between three double berths and a convertible dinette in the main salon.
The high level of workmanship is readily apparent throughout the fit and finish of the Beneteau 393. The interior has a modern and bright feel thanks to the oversized hatches, generous portlights, and three superb acrylic skylights overhead the main salon. Custom sun shades and screens keep the living space comfortable, but when the summer sun becomes overbearing two CruiseAir 12,000 BTU air conditioning units deliver cool air throughout the climate controlled cabins and main salon.
The main salon is accessed through the sliding acrylic main hatch and companionway stairs which are contoured for safety allowing for safe passage when healed over. The focal point of the main salon is the U-shaped settee to port with shelving outboard that seats eight comfortably around the large hardwood table which can quickly convert to a double berth. Storage is provided with corner lockers and underneath the centerline settee.

An electronics shelf outboard and a locker forward of the nav table provide additional storage.

While of French design and owing to her popularity in the United States, the Beneteau 393 was the first to be produced at Beneteau’s South Carolina plant. Her hull is solid fiberglass with a structural inner grid and fiberglass floor, the result is a stiff boat that is responsive and confident offshore. The deck is a balsa cored fiberglass sandwich construction with non-skid surface. The T-shaped cockpit with walkthrough transom seat is a nice feature and allows for easy access about the cockpit and integrated swim platform.
Her cockpit with teak seats and floor is well protected with a large dodger and bimini with wrap around enclosure and sun shades. All lines are led neatly aft to the cockpit to the well situated spinlock clutches on either side and Lewmar winches. The helm with leather wrapped wheel and sailpod is equipped with cruising electronics and instrumentation, VHF with AIS, Clarion stereo remote, and a Plastimo compass. A folding cockpit table with storage inside is perfect for outdoor entertaining.
Stanchions are solidly backed and keep the crew secure within the double lifelines and sturdy transom railing. Boarding gates are to either side and at the transom. Wide side decks and full length jacklines make going forward while underway much safer.
Grand Cru has been looked after and cared for to an extent that may seem fanatic to some. Her owner is a professional marine service manager and has ensured to have her rigging inspected each year and before any extended cruise. The anodized aluminum, two spreader mast was removed in 2014 and professionally inspected. Her sail inventory is astounding and includes a variety of headsails, two mainsails, and an asymmetric spinnaker with Harken blocks, ratchet, and Tylaska snap shackles. All sails are in great condition and allow for pleasurable sailing in a variety of wind conditions.
