The C&C 36 is a responsive, spacious family cruiser/club racer which combines good looks, strong construction, and fine performance. "Manatee" has received many upgrades throughout the years by her current owner. Some of the upgrades include; a recent Awlgrip hull, sails & canvas, deck hardware, re-built engine, instruments, stove, interior lights and much, much more.
The interior floor plan begins with a large private V-berth with storage underneath and a filler cushion to make a full-width berth. There are custom teak cabinets, cave lockers, and drawers in the V-berth area, as well as a hanging locker behind the privacy door. Overhead there is a large opening hatch for ventilation. Next aft to port is a well laid out HEAD, with a new marine toilet '10, with holding tank '05 and plumbing '10. Opposite to the Head, on the starboard side is a large hanging locker with an overhead shelf. The MAIN SALON is next aft, with a single settee to strb and a U-shaped dinettee to port. Aft of the settee is the U-shaped GALLEY, a large ice box and a new Force 10 stove & oven '10. NAVIGATOR'S STATION is starboard of the companionway featuring a large chart table,instruments and ship's electric panel. There is a roomy quarterberth aft of the NAV station. New cabin lights were installed through the cabin in '10. The bulkheads, cabinets, and doors are all teak or teak veneer, as are the ceiling mounted safety grab rails, and the cabin sole is teak and holly.
Below the quarter berth is the battery compartment which contains 2 deep cycle batteries. The batteries are electrically isolated and can be selected by means of a battery selector switches. The boat is powered with 115V AC, 30 amp shore power service via a 50 ft. heavy-duty line cord. The batteries are kept charged by a 55 amp alternator while underway under engine power.
Deep sink and shower, hot and cold pressure water and marine head with holding tank and Y-valve. There is adequate storage space in two large cabinets. A removable teak floor grate covers an electric shower drain. A small opening hatch provides ventilation.
The galley has a stainless steel sink with hot and cold pressurized water. In addition, two manual foot pumps can bring fresh cold water and seawater to the sink. The hot water is either produced via an engine heat exchanger (which also serves to cool the engine), or, while at the dock an electric water heating capability is available. There is a large top loading dry locker next to the sink for ample food storage. Next to that is a large 3 burner gimballed alcohol stove with an oven, and with storage space behind it for dishes, etc. and a large insulated ice-box.
Hull is Alwgrip white with blue boot-top stripe. There is a 'new' 40" elkhide covered wheel, 'new' Edson steering wheel with a brake, pedestal guard and single-lever engine controls '07, and a Danforth binnacle mounted compass on the pedestal. There is also provision to attach a cockpit table to pedestal guard for outdoor dining in the cockpit area. Also in the cockpit is a deep locker to port, which contains the hot water tank, accumulator, battery charger, fresh water pump, as well as shore power circuit breakers. It also provides a convenient storage shelf. There is another shallow locker to starboard. The cockpit is self-bailing and there are new cockpit cushion '08. There is a forward self-draining anchor locker, a double anchor roller, a CQR-25 anchor with 20 ft. of chain and 170 ft. of 3/4" rode. There is also a second Danforth anchor with chain and ½" rode. A forward stainless steel bow pulpit is connected to a stainless steel stern pulpit by' new' double lifelines through stainless steel stanchions with port and starboard boarding gates. There is a horseshoe life preserver on the aft starboard rail. The split stern pulpit has a gate, which provides access to a swim ladder.
Main Salon features a U-shaped settee to port, which can sleep two, and a single settee to starboard, with storage areas above both settees. Behind the back of the cushions there is storage compartments. There is a centerline drop-leaf table with a deep storage area (for bottles, etc.) in the middle of the table. Ventilation is provided by a forward and mid-ship hatches.

There is a large chart table with chart storage and four drawers below the nav table. The electric switch panel (with fusing) controlling power to all of the electric implements on board (lights, pumps, instruments, etc.) is located in this area, as is the VHF radio/telephone and the Stereo CD palyer which drives two speakers in the main cabin area and two in the cockpit. The instruments are mounted on the new Pedestal Guard in plain view of the helmsman.

There is an aluminum mast (stepped on the keel) and boom, mast conduit for wiring, double spreaders, Hydraulic backstay, Navtec rod rigging and adjustable baby stay, topping lift, 'new' Harken cabin top mainsheet traveller, Harken roller furler, boom vang, jib sheet tracks and blocks, mainsail and steering wheel custom covers. The main and genoa halyards are led aft to the cockpit, and there is a complete complement of winches.
