Owner Remarks and Recent Updates

This 1971/1972 53’ Hatteras was purchased from the original owner’s estate approximately 2.5 years ago and underwent a more than $400,000 renovation and refit. The boat has been in the fresh water of Lake Michigan all its life and was brought to Fort Lauderdale by the current owner in November 2014. A 27 day cruise from the Great Lakes with no issues.

To say this is the finest Hatteras 53 (the most popular model Hatteras ever sold), would be an understatement. As such, the following is a partial extensive list of all the work done by primarily one yard in the Chicago area and then captain maintained this past year in Florida:

The boat is really designed to be handled by 1 or 2 people. Easily run with the electronic throttles and bow thruster and has more room than boats in excess of 60’. Economical at 1.2 gallons/mile per engine gives almost a 300 mile cruising, a 15kW generator and inverter system makes it the ideal travel and live-aboard boat.
