Overview

Apprehensive is a well kept 2009 Hunter 38 with the Mariner Package. The Mariner package features Lewmar folding cowhide covered wheel, a more powerful 40hp Yanmar diesel engine, and a Bose entertainment system complete with DVD player and bass subwoofer under the port settee as well as other performance enhancements. In spite of what some consider might performance inhibitors, a shoal draft keel, in mast furling mainsail system and three-bladed propeller with her Bergstrom & Ridder rig, the boat performs extremely well on all points of sail, even in light air. Under engine, the boat keeps its good manners and maneuverability. Based on performance, design concepts and execution the Hunter 38 convinced the judges that it was the unanimous choice to win the class of production cruisers under 40 feet.
