Overview

This revered Sparkman & Stephens design sails as well as she looks and Weather Girl has been modified to sail even better.  The prior owner of this yacht was a local Florida sailmaker who was friends with Olin Stephens.  Olin admitted that the skeg was not part of the original design and Tartan had added it post production.  He sketched up the way the rudder/skeg was supposed to be, and the changes were made.  Weather Girl sailed successfully all over southern Florida and racked up loads of trophies.  She has been neglected recently but has great "bones" and can still be competitive on the local beer-can circuit.  Dry-sailed for the past 14 years, Weather Girl is blister-free, sports an upgraded Harken main sheet traveler system, an electric Harken main sheet/main halyard winch, and a newer mainsail.
