2015 Azimut Atlantis 50 Yacht Review

Azimut Atlantis 50 ReviewThis is a yacht that you can just tell means business by looking at it. Head full speed over open water or anchor yourself for some relaxing time in the sun. The forceful look, efficient shape, and gaunt details scream Italian. You may be unaware of the Atlantis brand, but if you look a little nearer, you will see

“Azimut” in lettering under its badge.

Accommodations:

This yacht was created to compete with the best of them. Many mid-range sport cruisers come with various layout options, and this one is no different. The most prominent options are that you can have two or three cabins with a dinette in the standard cabin, and opposite the galley on the right side can be set up with a twin bunk cabin. It’s your choice- one or two or cabins, four compartments or six. All these decisions are yours to make. The main deck is also up for customization. You can have a hardtop with an open back, or a Coupe version which comes with sliding glass doors that create a saloon that is all closed in. There is also a great design for cockpit seating and a large garage with all selections.

Performance:

The Azimut Atlantis 50 has six hundred horsepower, six-cylinder Cummins diesels that motivate conventional pop shafts thru V-drive gear boxes. It’s a snug fit but the engineers planned it well and it has easy access to fuel water separators, header tanks, filters, and dipsticks among other necessities.

It truly is a sporting instrument, with accurate control and a great turn of speed. The luxury of this yacht is pampering and comfortable. It is well put together and delivers on all of its promises.

Construction:

This yacht is built in Avigliana at Azimut’s factory. Rest assured that this boat is made with the same level of attention as those made at the parent label when looking at fit, engineering, and design. When you step aboard you are met with large solid handrails that are much bigger than they must be, which is a staple of Azimut yachts. All of the woodwork in the saloon is completely finished and not made of resources such as fiberglass. Old-school plywood that has been lacquered is used instead. The outer shell of the hull is no exclusion with its vinyl resin and vacuum permeated laminate.
