Horizon FD85 Yacht Review

One of the most interesting exterior features of the Horizon FD85 is her expansive cutaways in the bulwarks that offer striking sightlines of the floor to ceiling saloon windows and promise striking views at sea. There is room for up to eight adults to dine comfortably. The deck is impressive. Forward of the saloon just past the galley, you will find yourself in the on-deck master. Other outstanding features include nearly 8 feet of headroom, a sizeable desk to port and a settee to starboard, a closet, head, and entrance doors that blend effortlessly into the rest of the stateroom creating a clean, sleek appearance.

There is a Jacuzzi tub and a separate, large standup shower with a head arrangement that makes full use of the semi-plum bow space.

When it comes to performance, propulsion is via twin 1,136 horsepower CAT C18 ACERTs. The FD85 should produce a slow cruise of 10 knots and a fast cruise of 16 knots when paired with Horizon’s “FD” fast displacement hull.
